Tucker Dennis Obituary, Death – James D. and Geneva M. (Rossignol) Tucker had three children total; Dennis D. Tucker was born in Keokuk, Iowa, on February 23, 1956, as the third child. Up until the middle of his junior year of high school, Dennis’s family resided in Hamilton, Illinois. After that, they moved to Abingdon, Illinois. In 1974, Dennis completed his high school education in Abingdon, Illinois.
The family moved to Galesburg, Illinois, that same year, and he attended Carl Sandburg Jr. College at first, then transferred to Western Illinois University (WIU) to study law enforcement, his lifelong dream of being an officer of the law. Dennis leaped at the chance to join the Reno, Nevada, police department, and throughout the course of his 22-year tenure, he advanced from patrolman to detective.
But an early retirement due to a back problem prompted him to become a private detective. Following that, Dennis started a private detective agency before enlisting in the State of Nevada’s Legislative Police, where he spent a total of ten years—eight in Carson City and two in Las Vegas—being stationed in both cities. Dennis moved to Belton, Texas, to be closer to his family and friends after deciding to retire a second time.
Dennis has a large network of friends and associates from many different places, both personally and professionally. Along with his mother, Geneva, he is survived by his siblings, Trent D. Tucker and his wife Karen of Mansfield, Texas; Sandra Cole and her husband John of Brookline, New Hampshire; and Donald G. Tucker and his wife Alicia of San Diego, California. He also leaves behind four nieces and seven nephews. Ronald Lee Tucker, his brother, and James, his father, both died before him. They are going to carry on his legacy.
